Fiocco nascita parte 3 - Welcome baby bow part 3

Last part of the tutorial to realize this welcome baby bow

matita
filo da cucito in tinta

cartoncino
colori per stoffa (io ho utilizzato azzurro, blu e verde)
pennello sottile

stuzzicadenti
2 pezzi di nastro sottile in tinta
forbici
Material for the panel:
2 fabric rectangles about 22x14cm (I used one white and one blue, but they can be the same colour)
pencil
matching sewing thread
cardboard
fabric paint (I used light-blue, blue and green)
thin paintbrush
toothpick
2 pieces of matching thin ribbon
scissors

[19]  Draw on one of the fabric rectangles, with a pencil, a rectangle about 20x12cm with rounded corners: this will be the final shape of the panel. Draw inside this rectangle the writing you want to paint, always witha  pencil (I drew it first on a piece of paper, to be sure it will fit the rectangle, and then traced it out on the fabric).

[20] Start to go over the pencil mark with the main fabric paint (I chose the light-blue). Let it dry according to paint instructions.

Lasciate asciugare.
[21] Now take the second fabric paint (blue) and realize some thin shadows near the borders of the light-blue letters only in some points. This will give depth to the writing and make it more visible. Let the paint dry.

[22] Using a toothpick add small dots in the third paint (green) near the letters to add a bright touch and make the writing more colourful. Let it dry. If necessary iron the panel to fix the colour.

[23] Take the two ribbon pieces and apply them on the front  of the painted panel. Place them one on the right and one on the left of the center of the long upper border, making each piece stick out 1cm over the pencil border, like in the picture below. Fix them with few stitches on the external of the pencil border (otherwise the stitches will remain visible on the completed panel).

[24] Overlap the painted rectangle to the second fabric rectangle, right sides together (the painted side will be inside, and so will the two ribbons).

[25] Sew along the panel border leaving one of the short sides open. Turn it inside out: as you can see the ribbons are now sticking out on the top of the panel: we will use them to hang the panel on the wreath.

[26] Cut the cardboard in the same shape of the panel, but few millimeters smaller to fit it easily inside the fabric.

[27] Insert the cardboard inside the panel through the open side.

[28] Hand sew the open side putting the fabric borders inside the panel.

[29] Take the wreath, put the ribbons of the panel around the bottom (the writing must be in turned the same direction of the front of the wreath!) and fix them on the back of the panel with few stitches.

    1. Grazie Manuela!!! :-)
Spero che i tutorial possano esserti utili!
